Molybdenum Threaded Rods are for when high strength and stability in extremely high temperatures are required.
They have an incredibly high melting point, which stands at 2620°C – as well as a high level of conductivity. They also have a moderately low point of thermal expansion.
As they have low distortion and extraordinary durability at high temperatures, they are ideal for applications that involve intense temperatures that are shielded from oxygen – as exposing the fastener to oxygen above heats of 600°C will cause it to oxidise.
Applications for a Molybdenum Threaded Rod include vacuum furnaces, glass production and space applications where oxygen is not present.
Available in a number of grades, in sizes from M5 to M12 as standard but with larger sizes available to be made to order.
