MHC alloy is the upgraded TZM alloy product, with superior performance and strength compared to TZM alloy. The new MHC alloy developed by HS Metal, with oxygen content less than 50ppm, can substitute TZM ally to achieve better efficacy.
Molybdenum hafnium carbon (MHC alloy) owns high temperature-resistant, has a high level of thermal conductivity, a low coefficient of thermal expansion and a high recrystallization temperature. MHC alloy retains its shape even when used at temperatures of up to 1 550 °C. At temperatures up to 800 °C, MHC is suitable for use in die inserts. A t higher temperatures, we recommend using MHC for full dies. The benefits to you for a long service life:
Outstanding heat resistance
Outstanding creep resistance
Withstands extreme thermal and mechanical loads
Thanks to the uniformly distributed, extremely fine carbides, the material benefits from outstanding heat and creep resistance and, at 1 550 °C, the maximum recommended temperature of use is 150 °C higher than that of TZM.
Molybdenum-Hafnium-Carbon(MHC alloy) is a particle-reinforced molybdenum-based alloy which contains both hafnium and carbon.
